Feel the sorrow - art Journaling the sorrow away

Hello and welcome
My father died unexpectedly the night of January 17. It was a big shock and I have a very difficult time now. I thought he would live for many years yet. That we would experience several days together and that he would experience many nice moments with his grandchildren and great grandson. I was wrong.

In my greaf I find comfort in art and in my art journal. So this page is my expression of my sorrow:

Even in the darkest days there is a shade of colors.

In what way do you deal with grief? Music maybe? I think music can also be a help in grief.

The funeral will be on Thursday. Then that is the last goodbye. After that we have to try to live - laught, love, dance and sing.

Tell someone dear "I love you", today. Tomorrow it could be to late.

Thank you for visiting. Take care!

Create your own sunshine by thinking beautiful thoughts - Kunst som terapi

Klem, Anita

I'm blue di da da dam di da dei da - Tid for inspirasjon :-)

Perfect Pearl Mist - Perfect Pearl
Tim Holtz stencil
Distress Ink
Manilla tag str. 8
Tim Holtz Big chat stickers

Stempler brukt:

Keep calm and crafty on!

I would like to paint the way a bird sings - Magicals on Canvas Board

Hello to all my creative friends and followers!

Today is the day I will show you my Studio (as I promised you at my resent blogpost) AND the piece of awesome art made of Magicals, Stencils, Pencils, Liquied Pearls, Watercolours and Modeling Paste on Canvas Board.

Here it is - my latest artwork created in my studio today:

I've used these three Magical from Lindy's Stamp Gang on my canvas Board. I looooove those Magical! They are just that!

I've used Modeling paste true a stencil to get this pattern

This bird I drew on my watercolor painted paper, and cut it out

My watercolour painted paper

Here I've used a round cling stamp with black ink, paintet with gesso inside the rings, then used gold and pink modeling paste true a stencil.

What do you think?
I was inspired by the very sweet and talented artist Marta Lapkowska. If you have'nt seen anything of her please visit her blog. Her art is absolutly stunning, and she is a great motivator and inspiration.

I also promised you to show my studio and here it is:
Now I remember that I forgot to clean my Studio before Picture taking......
I just love this room! It starts to get a bit small, so the dream is to have a separate small house in the garden where I can pursue other things as well, such as flowers and plants, clay, renovation of small furniture etc., and perhaps a small Cafe where I can serve coffee, tea and homemade buns and my guests can see and buy my art at the same time. That's my dream ☺
Do you have any dreams?

If you want better pictures or a close up of something, just let me know and your wish will come true ☺And if you have any question don't hesitate to ask, oki?

I join this with the challenge at Lindy's Stamp Gang with this month's colors:

Thanks for visiting! See you soon ☺

Flower Power - A tribute to Mimi Bondi

Hello and welcome

today the winter has arrived to Norway and my hometown Bergen. When I get up this morning the temperatur was about -1c (minus one celsius). Thats cold! But at least we have sunshine in Bergen and that's the great part ☺

Anyway, I am reading the fantastic book of Mimi Bondi from the Sunny side of life: "No shenanigans". Do you remember me getting the book? I told you about it on my previous blog post. You can see the blog post here

I have chosen one of her wonderful artwork and gone step by step and made this:

I just love these flowers and the intense colours. This is my preliminary favorite painting!

It's a bit odd to make warm flowers when it's winter out here ☺

I think it was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much, Mimi for your fantastic tutorials and inspiration. I must also say that I think it was very nice to read the book too. Many good tips and humor. I would recommend anyone to buy this! Yes, it was the current advertising *LoL*.

Thats all for today, folks. I will soon come back with more. Make sure to stay tuned ☺

How to get depth, pattern and life into your artwork - step by step tut.

Hello and welcome.
I hope you are feeling fine. I am doing fine, have a lot of fun ideas that I hankering to get tested out, but first thing first. I'd promised you to come back and show you step by step how to get depth, pattern and life into your artwork. So here we go :-)

LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE - NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST - GOOD THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN
On canvas I always started with white Gesso, using a spatel, creditcard, babywipe or a brush.
On this canvas, I tore up many pieces from an old book and glued them down with Mod Pogde as it shows  at the picture below:

And then I tore up some pieces from a cardboard box and glued them on with Mod Pogde. It does not show here, but  I also inflicted gesso on cardboard pieces just to get the right colour on the paint I will apply.

Then I took my acrylic Paint in the colour pink, purple, green, yellow and turquis and smeared Paint on with a baby wipe, as shown below:

so I picked up many exciting and fun stencils and inflicted the same colors that I had used on the background. And of course no art without the use of Stamps :-) I'd used stamps and stamped some pattern in the same colourpalett as the background and some pattern in black ink. I hope you can see it. I know, it was not any good quality of these Pictures. I'm sorry about that.

Finaly I used a clover-stencilmask from Dylusion and a blending tool and Paint around the stencilmask With the colour turquoise, and a stencil from Tim Holtz Collection called Dot Fade here and there around the image, and some black stripes with my creditcard. I Draw around the edges of the clover with a black Posca pen.
And voila it became this litle piece of art :-)

I hope this was helpful and inspiring and gave you a taste for more so you come back soon.

If you are Norwegian/Scandinavian or just familiar with the language, check out my post on Rubber Dance Scandinavian blog. There I have posting doodling and Neocolors II on aquarellepaper. It is very fun and you can not stop once you've started, I promise you :-)

Next time I will show you step by step from my Art Journal among other things this:

 - and maybe some more.
Dont go away - stay tuned!

Hugs from me to you

Hot'n Crazy Art Journal - some inspiration for Mixed Media Art

Hi!
In my last post - as you can see by clicing here, I did promise you to come up with some madness, and here it is:

DELIGHT IN EACH CRAZY MOMENT SHINE ON!

Another dobble page in my Art Journal. This time I use warm colours just to get some summer feeling. We have not had any summer yet, in my opinion, where I live in Norway, then I found out that I paint the summer feeling instead :-)

I think of summer as warm red, orange, turquise and yellow so i've used these colours - unless the yellow, for the background. Then I stamp different flowers all over the page, and stamp a Board around the page. Then I took some gesso on my finger and rub it in here and there on the page, just to get the colors to blend nicely together.

I took a lot of different stencils and make some very nice pattern and depth to my page using exactly the same colors that I used for the background, and I also used yellow. Then I used some rubber stamps both from Dylusions and from Rubber Dance to make some more pathern and life to the page using black and white ink. I cut out the big bird, lady's face and body from Magazines and the rest of the images I stamped, cut out and colored them with Distress Ink and Promarker Pens. Then I glued all Down to the page. The small flowers I find in my stuff, glue them down and slew them with a small dot of Liqued Pearls on each petals.  Around the edge I used my white pen here and there.

Here is some close ups for you:

I am in to these fun Challenge with my Hot'n Crazy Art Journal page:
